Pollen is a digital platform dedicated to breaking down barriers in order to build better-connected communities. Founded in the belief that connecting is about more than exchanging business cards, we share the stories behind individuals, we turn opportunities into realities, and we champion getting off the couch to learn about the world. Started in 2009 by Lars Leafblad to take professional community building to a new level, Pollen uses moments of connection and visceral storytelling to inspire and grow ideas. We engage our readers, members, and followers in new and exciting ways that propel interest and content sharability. On an ongoing basis, Pollen now reaches more than 10,000 actively engaged civic-connectors, entrepreneurs, community-builders, and up-to-somethingers.

As Pollen's Event Designer, I worked with an all-hands-on-deck collaborative team to produce community centered events that highlighted our Featured Editorial Stories. My role included strategy & designing the event experience and run-of-show, curating content and arranging for guest speakers/performers, logistics coordination, attendee/box office management, managing budgets for all events, tracking revenue and expenses, and coordination of teams (volunteer, planning staff, etc.) to ensure strong audience engagement.

Pollen is enjoying rapid growth and increased notoriety. Our events sell out quickly and often result in standing room only crowds. Our attendees represent a wide swath of the region’s most connected professionals, ranging from established executives to emerging leaders. Pollen's original event series includes Work Redux, #LikeABoss, Unraveled Network, and Rally Cry: A Make It. MSP conversation.
