Designed to examine shifts and evolutions in the workplace as experienced and creative women step into leadership positions, Work Redux will kick of its 2016 programming with a look at how female leaders use their VOICE.
There’s no debate that marginalized communities experience consistent silencing by the reigning hegemonic power structures. One of the main ways to diversify who holds that power is to influence the narrative. Whether in the form of writing, speaking, editing, publishing, art, etc., we all have a voice that not only deserves, but also needs to be heard. It’s time for gender equity to seriously influence whose opinions, expertise, and perspectives get heard.
Work Redux | Voice will give the microphone to a range of dynamic female leaders who will share their war stories, analyze the impact, and offer solutions on how their own voice informs who they are and their career path. As a group, we’ll then examine how we use our voice in formal spaces to express our points of view, garner respect, and influence the world.
About Work Redux
As part of Pollen’s mission to help people break down barriers to build better connected communities, Work Redux is an event series (and now also a network of leaders) that inspires questions, sparks discussion, and drives action to challenge cultural assumptions behind the current, dominant work culture. Together we will better understand how we can design and change the future of work.
