Last November, more than 150 Pollenites gathered to analyze and discuss how to nurture a thriving ecosystem of relationships — working to better understand our inner habits around network building. On January 28, Pollen and Carlson School of Management invite everyone back and encourage new faces to join in on this discussion.
We will hear from Patricia Dahm, a researcher at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, who will speak about Pollen's results in the "Build Your Network" study. Specifically, how do members of the Pollen network build, maintain, and use their networks effectively. How big, strong, and diverse are our networks? If you participated in the study, you will be receiving your custom report that details your individual networking behaviors — comparing them with the average Pollenite participant.
Going beyond comparing surface-level networking behaviors, this discussion will dig deep into a universal foundation of strong relationships: story. Pollen believes every connection doesn’t begin with a LinkedIn request, but with a story. How do we better understand someone’s story and share our own story — ultimately helping us become better connectors and community weavers. We will hear from two exceptional network-builders on how they grow and deepen meaningful relationships.
D.A. Bullock, an award-winning documentarian, will share his secrets and perspective on how to mine stories and drive authentic discussions. How can we learn from his 15+ years of creative knowledge in capturing story through cinematography and bring those lessons to our next coffee meeting or networking happy hour?
Then Lynn Casey, chair and CEO of PadillaCRT, will open up about her own experiences and share how she has built a significant reputation around growing lasting connections. How does she go beyond the average professional relationship into the deep, meaningful relationship that she’s known for cultivating?
Join 200 other Pollenites for a morning of connecting, discussion, analyzing, and storytelling. There will be extensive Q&A opportunity, so bring lots of questions and your own advice to share with the group. Before, during, and after the program all attendees will be encouraged and prompted to meet one another and put into practice the learnings of Unraveled Network.
